Heart's Desire

Savoring the last of the fruit, they reached across the table towards each other. Each gazing on the calming smile on the others face. Holding hands, enjoying the afternoon breeze, and warm sun by the beach, radiating such happiness that just to look at them would mesmerize. In the end realizing that you too were smiling.

They finished their glass of wine and got up from the table. Moving slower then they used to, they left the restaurant's deck and made their way to the waters edge. I couldn't help but watch them, hand in hand walking as if no one else was there. At the waters edge they stood looking onto the ocean. He bent over and did not move for a few moments. She leaned over, looking concerned, he did not appear to answer. I wondered if there was a problem, if he was OK. I looked around to see if anyone else had noticed, none had. Then she reached down and I could finally tell what was happening. She helped him remove his shoes. They both slowly stood up once more, and walked off down the beach, still hand in hand.

Seems like something out of some romance novel, or some Hollywood love story, but it's better than that. I'm happy to say it was real. I don't know who they were, or how long they had known each other. It obviously did not matter. They may still be in Portugal. Maybe they were just visiting as I was. Wherever they are, I wish them continued happiness.

Best Seats in the House!!!

Went to see the Blue Angles, during Fleet Week in San Francisco California just over a week ago, for the I don't know what time, must be about 20th by now. Never disappointing. From our vantage point behind the St. Francis Yacht Club we saw a fantastic show. The F18s were literally right overhead on some maneuvers. Close enough that we could see the pilots helmet as you can see from this picture taken from the ground with a Canon Digital Rebel and a 75-300 Zoom lens, and NOT fully zoomed in!!! If you have an opportunity to see this show, give it a go, it doesn't disappoint. Just don't sit 1/4 mile back and expect something like this. You might get lucky, but the odds are against.
